Synopsis: An affectionate tribute to Raymond Chandler!  Jack Monday, private eye, returns from LA to his home town in the North East of England.  The occasion: a wedding.  But not just any wedding.  His best friend is going to marry the woman Jack loved and left 10 years ago.  The groom is rich, but none too popular.  Somebody's out to get him.  Will Jack be able to save him?  Does he want to?  This is a tongue-in-cheek tale of divided loyalties set against a backdrop of traditional industries in decline and the brave new world of marinas and executive housing, enterprise parks and shopping centres.
