Synopsis: Written for NUPE's centenary celebrations, the play provides a pocket history of British healthcare, and diagnoses its deteriorating condition as experienced by a nurse, a cleaner and their patient. But it's not just hospitals. Nurseries and home helps are being cut, and the two women find themselves stretched to breaking point, and forced to bury the hatchet and take a stand. Songs, juggling, and a theatrical journey from melodrama through music hall and Pathé newsreels. |
